Karl Hipp Designs does all of our lamp finishing at our facility as the final step once we have thorougly inspected and tested each lamp.
Our finishes are all lacquer base paint finishes. Depending on the desired result, there may be different colors blended to achieve the final effect.
The lamps that we produce that are of a Rustic design tend to do best with a rusted finish. This is of course a painted finish designed to achieve a rusted look. Flat black is another popular choice with the rustic look.
The more Traditional designs are often ordered in a medium black finish or an antique black which has a tint of brown, as though the finish has worn off over the years to show some of the base metal.
Aged Iron is a matte black finish that has some actual "grit" in the paint. It gives the feel and look of an item that has been around for a while.
On some of my Chandeliers and sconces that incorporate forged leaves into the designs, I will use a gold patina on the leaves that usually is applied to the aged iron, rusted or flat black finish on the overall design.
Keep in mind that any finish is available on any lamp.
